The most popular highlight of the day is wine tasting and sampling our local gourmet treats and of course spectacular scenic routes of our Wairau Valley while travelling to and from the most beautiful winery gardens and cellar doors.

Experience gourmet treats of cheese tasting, Manuka honey, oils, liqueurs, even a refreshing gelato and decadent fudge.  Plus our merino possum accessories. We can arrange a stop for the heritage lover at the Omaka Air Centre Museum where you can view Peter Jackson’s amazing displays of his classic aircraft.
Seasonal produce is also available at roadside stalls from December through to February for you to try. You can take these aboard but must eat them before you disembark.

Although your cruise ship caters well for you, a light tapas or cheese/meat/seafood platter with matching wines is a great way to experience our local cuisine. Your tour guide arranges a picturesque winery garden or a chateau high on a hill with magnificent views for your pleasure.

As you leave the Wairau Valley bound for Picton  a stop at the iconic Makana Boutique Chocolate Confections for mouth-watering tastings is a must do and a chance to take some home. 

Generally our tours are from 4-5 hours but we hold importance to flexibility in time schedules for each ship and cater for passengers comfort and requirements. You travel in comfortable, small personal vehicles of 6 and 11 seats and ensure you are returned to your ship at least 2 hours prior to your scheduled departure. 

As a highlight to end a wonderful day why not take advantage of a 15 minute return journey up to the Victoria Domain for high vantage views of Picton Port, Queen Charlotte Sound and your ship.Your chauffeur/tour guide is a local owner who has a great passion for our region and would look forward to sharing it all with you.
